Architecture in D.C.

Well, I decided to take another stroll this morning on my routine walk. Since I happened upon the Embassy neighborhood yesterday I decided to dig a little deeper and see what else is in the area. I found lots of homes (mostly embassies) and some apartments in my neighborhood so I decided to share them with you...ENJOY!
Great Tudor style house.
This is a gorgeous little cottage in the city or should I say "big" cottage.

More Embassies
French Embassy (I think)
I thought this was a cute gate on the Tudor style house...

Love the curved porch on the curved street!

Bold traditional architecture on this Embassy.

Apartment building close to the Conneticuit bridge. Lots of carving and detailing

Morning Walk with the Embassies

This morning I decided to walk through Rock Creek Park and then take a mysterious new direction and see what I stumble upon (and try to figure out how to get back home). It's always fun to just decide what street to take and see where you end up. I exited the park at Massachusetts and turned down several streets with familiar names in hopes that I was headed back to my apartment. I ended up walking down the neighborhood of embassies in Washington, DC. Not only were they extremely interesting but each one had its own distinct qualities and architectural details.

Not Embassies but great houses nonetheless!

Isn't this a great door? I love the diamonds broken by circles for extra detailing.
